How to claim mis sold Skoda PCP compensation

The claims process for obtaining compensation for mis sold Skoda PCP will generally follow the format below:

  • The first step is to complete our secure online claim form or call us on 0330 041 5137 to arrange a free initial assessment of your case.
  • During the free assessment, we will go through the circumstances of your Skoda car finance agreement with you, to include what you were told about it before you signed. How to know if you are owed mis sold Skoda PCP compensation

Following numerous complaints by members of the public, the Financial Conduct Authority launched a two-year investigation into mis sold PCP finance. The conclusion was that mis selling was widespread, with poor advice provided to consumers and lenders intentionally misleading and covering up of certain aspects of agreements, such as the amount of commission paid to the dealer or broker.

Car finance lenders are required by law to clearly advise you of the implications of any car finance deal you will be signing. This includes letting you know when commission is paid and how it is being dealt with.

Examples of car finance mis selling include where the salesperson or broker:

  • Didn’t properly explain all of the details of the finance deal to you, such as:
    • Who owned the vehicle (e.g. if it was a third-party hire purchase company rather than the dealer themselves)
    • Interest rates
    • Charges and fines for breach of the agreement
  • Did not explain they were receiving a commission or how this worked
  • Pressured you or rushed you to make a decision
  • Told you a particular finance package was their recommendation (you should always be presented with a range of options and the salesperson should remain impartial)
  • Failed to carry out appropriate credit, income and affordability checks
